Job Vacancy: Senior Manager (Thematic), Sarawak
Conservation Programme (SCP)
Position: Senior Manager (Thematic), Sarawak Conservation Programme
Level: M2 – Senior Manager
Location: WWF-Malaysia, Kuching, Sarawak
Reports To: Head of Conservation, Sarawak
Overview:
Join WWF-Malaysia to help shape and advance conservation strategies
in Sarawak. We work with various stakeholders to promote sustainable
development and aim to protect 1 million hectares of Totally Protected Areas
and 6 million hectares of permanent forest estates.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead Conservation Strategies: Implement and manage key conservation
strategies.
• Policy Advocacy: Provide insightful analysis and advocacy to influence
state policies for better conservation outcomes.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain positive relationships with
stakeholders to achieve cohesive conservation results.
• Adaptive Management: Document and monitor programme reviews for
continuous improvement.
• Coordination and Collaboration: Work with internal and external
stakeholders to gather inputs and ensure alignment with conservation
goals.
Qualifications:
• EducationalBackground:Degree in conservation, environmental science,
or related field; postgraduate degree and Ph.D. are advantageous.
• Experience: Minimum 8 years in conservation, environment, and
sustainable development programmes, with at least 2 years in a managerial
role.
• Knowledge: Deep understanding of conservation issues and state policies
in Sarawak.
• Communication Skills: Proficient in Bahasa Malaysia and English, with
strong writing and speaking abilities.
• Technical Proficiency: Computer literate, with skills in using technology
for presentations.
• Leadership: Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Independence: Ability to work with minimal supervision in both field and
office settings.
